Class 7: Types of Dream

In Chinese Tradition there are various types or categories of dreams. In the first two categories there are different types of dreams based on the particular qi-profile of their appearance. The third category is non-dual. The three categories are: Ordinary Dreams, Dreams of Clarity and True Dreams. The three categories also represent stages in the practice of Daoist Dreaming, but stages that are overlapping and concentric rather than hierarchical. Daoist dreamers welcome all types of dreams because, in the experience of true practitioners, all dreams are understood to be aspects of the dissolution of the boundaries between day and night (duality).
